On April 23rd 2024, Hanna Mües held a guest lecture on “Barriers and facilitators of healthcare access for people with mental health problems” as part of the seminar “Abnormal psychology: Social cognition and clinical disorders” organised by Ekaterina Pronizius from the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Vienna at IES Vienna. IES Vienna is a non-profit study abroad organization supporting internatioanl collaborations between students. As part of the lecture, Hanna shared the Austrian findings from a study on healthcare access and utilization that was conducted as part of the EU-project CO-CAPTAIN, which is coordinated by our team at MUW. The exchange students from the U.S. showed great interest and were eager to discuss the findings as well as differences in the Austrian and American healthcare systems. They further showed great interest in an exercise targeted at improving their own mental health. Promoting overall health, including mental health, is one of the primary objectives of our team.
