Lisa Lehner, together with Igor Grabovac won a new grant from the Vienna Science and Technology Fund – WWTF! The transdisciplinary project called “HPVienna: Pioneering a Transdisciplinary Urban Surveillance System for Human Papilloma Virus with Vulnerable Communities” focuses on surveillance, genotyping and modelling of HPV in vulnerable communities in Vienna. The project brings together the Bergthaler Lab of the Medical University of Vienna, the Niki Popper Group from the Technical University of Vienna and our very own Lisa Lehner from the University of Vienna supported by Igor Grabovac and Tobias Fragner.
“What makes this project exciting is the integration of social research with genomic epidemiology and epidemiological modeling and simulation, which carves out a new path in transdisciplinarity.” – said Lisa Lehner who is also a Co-Principal Investigator of the project. The project is scheduled to start in March of 2025 and will also include close collaboration with AmberMed, a healthcare service provider for people without an active health insurance.
“I am very happy that our group won another project focused on transdisciplinarity and am elated what the expert reviewers found that aspect of our project especially interesting. The future of science is transdisciplinary.”- said Igor Grabovac.
