Last week, Igor Grabovac attended the 28th European Health Forum Gastein (EHFG) in Bad Hofgastein, Austria. As a first-time participant, Igor was impressed by the diversity of voices represented — from industry and academia to NGOs, patients, and people with lived experience — making the exchanges particularly rich and meaningful.
During the conference, Igor participated in a panel discussion hosted by MSD Europe on embedding solidarity and equity in the new European Cardiovascular Plan, alongside EU Health Commissioner Oliver Várhelyi and other distinguished experts. The conversation highlighted the importance of patient-centered care, cross-sector collaboration, and investment in research — while also stressing that equity must remain central throughout the patient journey.
Reflecting on the event, Igor emphasized that technological innovation alone cannot close health gaps without strong social and policy innovation. Leaving Gastein, Igor felt inspired and motivated to continue advancing equity in health policy.
