The Medical University of Vienna annually awards exceptional contributions to promotion of diversity in categories “Reseach”, “Teaching”, “Thesis” and “Community”. Named after the late Prof Veronika Filka Moser, the prize was awarded this year for the tenth time. The first place in the category “Teaching” was awarded to Igor and Kathrin Kirchheiner from the Clinic of Radiooncology for the development and implementation of the elective course “Sex-, Queer- and Kink- Positive Medicine and Psychology”.
“Given the current political climates it is especially needed for future medical doctors to be sensitive to the topics of diversity, which is one of the ways we can promote diversity in a sustainable way.” – said Igor during the award ceremony.
